1. The general principle of tool selection is: easy installation and adjustment, good rigidity, high durability and precision. On the premise of meeting the processing requirements, try to choose a shorter tool holder to improve the rigidity of the tool processing.

When selecting a tool, the size of the tool must be adapted to the surface size of the workpiece being processed. In production, the peripheral contours of flat parts are usually processed by end mills; when milling planes, carbide cutters should be selected; when processing bosses and grooves, high-speed steel end mills are selected; when machining rough surfaces or roughing When drilling holes, corn milling cutters with carbide inserts can be selected. For some three-dimensional profiles and beveled contour shapes, ball-end milling cutters, ring milling cutters, cone milling cutters and disc milling cutters are often used.

When performing free-form surface machining, the cutting speed of the ball nose cutter is zero. Therefore, in order to ensure the machining accuracy, the cutting pitch is generally very dense. Therefore, ball noses are often used for the finishing of curved surfaces. The flat-end tool is superior to the ball-end tool in terms of surface processing quality and cutting efficiency. Therefore, as long as the surface is not overcut, whether it is rough machining or finishing of the curved surface, the flat-head tool should be preferred. In addition, the durability and accuracy of the tool has a great relationship with the price of the tool. It must be noted that in most cases, although a good tool selection increases the cost of the tool, the processing quality and efficiency of the tool are improved. , It can greatly reduce the overall processing cost.



On the machining center, various tools are installed on the tool magazine, and the tool selection and tool change are performed at any time according to the program. Therefore, standard tool holders must be used so that standard tools used in drilling, boring, expanding, milling and other processes can be quickly and accurately installed on the machine tool spindle or tool magazine. The programmer should understand the size and adjustment method of the tool holder used on the machine tool. And adjustment range to determine the radial and axial dimensions of the tool during programming.

At present, machining centers in China use the TSG tool system, which has two types of tool holders: straight (three specifications) and tapered (four specifications), including a total of 16 different types of tool holders.


2. In economical numerical control machining, because the sharpening, measurement and replacement of tools are mostly performed manually, which takes a long time to assist, it is necessary to arrange the order of the tools reasonably. The following principles should generally be followed:
